Merchant:  “One who keeps a store or shop for the sale of goods; a shopkeeper.”   In my series titled Merchants I examine the current appearance and personality of the shop and shopkeeper. This series examines the character of the small shopkeeper by photographing them in the context of their commercial setting. The uniqueness of these shops, and the bond or similarity that the owners and the shops have in common is often overlooked.  These images give the viewer an opportunity to observe this relationship in more detail.
